About Modest Clothing Hello! If you are reading this page, it means you are at least a little curious about modesty! Are you looking to learn more about it? Perhaps, you have felt God's pull to dress more modestly and you have come across this site! Either way, I have spent a long time pulling together articles and sites that both encourage and offer direction in this wonderful, but forgotten virtue. I have started a blog to help as well. My blog is named Modesty: The Forgotten Virtue I want to tell you a bit about my journey: I wasn't always into modesty, I wasn't always Catholic either! (A convert of about 5yrs now). Over the last five years, I have felt a stronger and stronger pull from God to at least explore the idea of modesty..in all things. As I've done so, I have had some real eye openers! I realized that my duty as a parent was to do my very best to protect my children from all harm..both physical (which was always a given) and Spiritual..which honestly had not been foremost in my mind in past years. The more I studied this forgotten virtue, the more I realized that the clothing available to a girl (little, preteen or teen), and for me (all us grown up women), was for the most part unacceptable! In the great hunt for dresses and slips for both me and my daughter, I discovered that there are very few out there that actually cover the backside, or that come below the knee! What we did find were not cute, they were usually way to expensive and rather dowdy! So I made yet another pattern..... the rest, as they say, is history!
